Description
Madhubani or Mithila painting of Bihar, India was developed long back during the Ramanaya time. These paintings use natural colours and depict Hindu deities like Ram, Krishna, Saraswati, Durga, etc. While nature as the Moon, the Sun and even plants like Tulsi together with Hindu devotional events formed the earliest concepts of this traditional art. Initially such renderings were done with clay on mud wall but today it is practiced on paper, cloth and other medium as well.
